All Hallows Preview...

Georgie and Shep attended a Halloween themed birthday party this past weekend. By Friday I was only halfway done their costumes (both kids having changed their mind mid stitch)..."but Mama, I wanted to be a PINK mermaid".
I was also madly prepping for the Sunday's Child Grand Opening the next day and working on a Halloween party I have planned for their class this coming weekend. Not room for a thin mint on this plate. I had to pull some costumes out of my creative behind and fast. Since Shep could not actually decide on one theme we did a combo... zombie / skeleton / pirate (of course). For George I fired up the glue gun and finished a tutu I had started last year...shazam, a fairy. Not bad for last minute...

Must go finish the pink mermaid and the bat / spider / zombie costumes for this weekend.
Scary dreams xo

Thankful for ColdFX...

All four of us woke up today full of hacks and coughs. It is the second round of colds in as many months and I am wiped out, decorated out and turkey-ed out. So today we just turned the couch into a family bed, convalesced and reflected on what a lovely holiday weekend it had been.
Sickness aside, I am thankful for many many things...
Family meal prep time, country living, picking your own apples, pumpkins and homemade doughnuts, outdoor dinners, homegrown flowers, Jaime Oliver's idea to stuff stuffing right under the skin of a turkey, friends, family and despite the fact that they are filthy little germ bombs, my two lovely children. And yes, I am very thankful for warm blankets, hot tea and Cold FX.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone xo.

Everyday is like Sunday...

Once upon a time there was a girl who liked to draw pictures. Draw pictures, and glue stuff. She also really liked to sew and hunt for vintage treasures. She always thought it would be great to be able to do all of that stuff in one location, for a living. Then the girl met another girl who liked to do all the same stuff (and coincidentally also thought that squishing all of these loves under one roof was a great idea).
I am so happy to announce that Miss Jude and I have partnered up and opened just such a space. Yesterday (after weeks of planning and prep and not a lot of sleep), we launched Sunday's Child. A place that houses all of the above fancy notions.
A little vintage, some hand crafts, great coffee, and a very large table that will serve as a gathering place for crafting, collaboration and DIY classes.
Oh, and Whoopie Pies. We have handmade (here in Orono by the lovely Michelle from Triple Sweet) Whoopie Pies. The only thing better than eating a Whoopie Pie is yelling the words Whoopie Pie!
Try it, you'll see.
We quietly opened our doors yesterday and were thrilled with the feedback. In a few weeks time we will have a grand opening. I'll keep you posted, you should come.
